Remembering Our Cofounder at the Annual ACS Climb to Conquer
It was another successful climb this year totaling close to 10-miles; hiking up the main trail and back side of the mountain to return to the finish line. The competitive team completed the climb in just under 3.5 hours. WAY TO GO TEAM CALIENTE!
Investing in the community about us has always been important to the co-founders of Caliente Construction. Tom and Lorraine both participated for many years in various annual community events including Tempe Leadership, Tempe Cares, and the ACS Climb to Conquer Cancer. Of course, when Tom passed of cancer in 2005, the Climb event became much more personal to Lorraine and family.
In the years following Tom’s passing, The climb was dedicated to Tom, but Lorraine soon realized that “Cancer really is something that unfortunately touches the lives of every individual, whether it be themselves or a loved one. With that in mind, the walk is dedicated to all those in our organization and network whose lives have been touched by cancer. We are confident that medical research will one day find a cure. Till then, we climb.”
Since 2005, Caliente has raised over $250,000 to help the American Cancer Society find a cure through the annual ACS Climb Event. This year was no different!
