City of Scottsday Fire Stations No. 1 & No. 8
Delivery Process: Design-Bid-Build
Construction Type: New Construction
Total Square Footage: 22,000 SF
Construction of two new 11,000 SF, 3-bay fire stations completed under one contract. Both stations were similar and consisted of a combination of exposed concrete block masonry and ICF block with integral color plaster, brick veneer, and a standing seam metal roof. The fire stations feature seven dormitories, individual showers, administrative offices, communication room, day room, state of the art commercial kitchen, dining room, and a large community room. The stations also have a three-bay Apparatus Bay, separate turnout locker areas, medical storage, shops, and exercise rooms. Using our desert resources, recycling excess construction materials, and responding to the environment and the surrounding vegetation, the newly built fire stations are responsibly innovative while contributing to the city’s practical needs and sustainable footprint. Both buildings achieved LEED Platinum Certification.
