City of Phoenix Convention Center

Delivery Process: Construction Manager at-Risk

Construction Type: Renovation

Total Square Footage: 180,000 SF

The work consisted of interior renovations to the occupied South Building of the City of Phoenix’s Conventions Center. Work included remodel of the main lobby, north entry, north and south meeting halls and corridors and construction of new kiosks. Improvements included many custom and “one of a kind” items, which required coordination with several specialty trade contractors and fabricators.   Unique items included installation of “Eventscape” graphic panels, custom millwork and casework. Other portions of the work consisted of demolition, renovation and upgrade of 8 restrooms in the South Hall of the Convention Center and refurbishment of the operable walls.

The Convention Center’s South building has a fully occupied tenant space on the second floor. Caliente implemented a site specific plan to address safety and traffic control during construction.
